My name is Dan MacQuarrie and I have spent practically my whole life being an advocate for social justice and equality for all. In establishing the MacQuarrie Institute Society my vision is to educate and bring awareness to that which is good in this Country and also that which has not been so good. In Building Canada A 2nd Time the goal is to focus on, and promote, that which is good.
I have set aside $300,000 as working capital to generate income to be used to benefit the community and build Canada a 2nd time. This money will be made available as soon as we generate sufficient funds.
I am dedicated to this and with your help we can realize the Canada of our dreams. So please get involved in whatever way you can.. The children of tomorrow will thank us.
Our mission is to invite and encourage every Canadian to assess the situation in which they find themselves, consider how it could be improved, gather some likeminded friends around, and draw up a plan; institute the plan ad infinitum, beginning with one`s self. Then,We will assist you in sharing your story On social media.
In the 1400`s, Britain, France, Holland, Portugal, and Spain were intent on doing some empire building. Specifically, to carve up the New World, but they didn’t want to do it by fighting among themselves.
In 1452, Pope Nicholas V issued, to King Alfonso V of Portugal, a papal bull (public decree) Romanus Pontifex, declaring war against all non-Christians throughout the world, and specifically sanctioning and promoting the conquest, colonization, and. exploitation of non-Christian nations and their territories. (500 years of injustice by Steve Newcomb,) ( Doctrine of Discovery )We label this straight-line thinking, i.e. male-dominated, hierarchical, father/ mother knows best. Then Adam Smith arrives on the scene, and in 1776 writes The Wealth of Nations. This theory of economics came to be known as capitalism. Let the market and those with the greatest wealth set the agenda. Individualism is glorified, The ME generation, “What’s in it for me?” We’ve got to have jobs, to hell with the environment.”
As a real alternative, indigenous philosophy is based on Unconditional Love, which we call circle thinking,“ everyone is invited into the circle where truth and reconciliation are allowed to work their magic.”
We are looking at two distinct ways of living; one chose fear & punishment, whereas the other chose Unconditional Love. That is precisely why the indigenous people made a wampum belt, to express their understanding of the 1764 Treaty of Niagara. Two Nation’s paddling down the river of life together, neither interfering in any way with the other. That was the agreement. But that is not the way it worked out in practice.
As we celebrate Canada’s first 150 years, We Thank Our Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, in Leading by example, by offering all Canadians a golden opportunity to right the wrongs of the past, and set a new direction for the future.
It happened June 21 2017, the last Aboriginal Day, when he announced:
Trudeau also reaffirmed his commitment to building a new relationship with the Indigenous peoples.
It is encouraging that more and more Canadians are anxious to get actively involved in improving the circumstances of everyone in our communities, and in all of Canada.
We believe that each of us, individually and collectively, will build the country of our dreams when we begin practising unconditional love, and intentionally changing our attitude towards one another.
It is our hope, That Our theme song “UNCONDITIONAL LOVE”, Will remind you of Who we are, And why we are here. Together we will build the Community of our dreams.
